Responsibilities, Reprieve and Rest
Brown grass. It’s a sign that summer is finally here. For many, this is a most welcome reprieve.
This is a fortunate time because now as you are enjoying your grounds of grandeur without glaring grass, you are elevated and you can clearly see what you didn’t have time to see before: Exploding shrubs, parched bonsais, intricate shades of green whirling together – a gutter muck mixture.
Most people assume that the best time to take care of gutters is when the rains start again. I do not subscribe to this point of view. If you have moss on your roof, get it off. It’s a lot cheaper to pay for moss removal than it is to pay or a new roof.
Now that your gutters are filled with moss, does it make sense to wait until they are clogged and pouring water down onto your windows and siding with hopes that you can get them serviced within those busy months for maintenance folk?
I know just as many people with multi-million dollar homes as I do without who are reluctant to spend money. Before they know it, that house doesn’t have the same “curb appeal”. Whether you own a three hundred thousand dollar home or a multi-million dollar home, the premise is the same; protect your investment! Use this growing season reprieve wisely. Don’t pay less for a lesser job.
Now that you have met your home owner responsibilities, pull up a lawn chair, a glass of iced tea and be proud of what you have.
